A legendary Pomerol from Château Pétrus, is a mature and surprisingly expressive example of this highly sought-after wine. Although 1980 was not considered a great Bordeaux vintage overall, Pétrus performed strongly, developing considerable richness, balance and complexity with age.
Tasting Notes
- Aroma: Ripe red fruit, jammy berries and herbs, with notes of roasted herbs, vanilla, tobacco and subtle earthy character.
- Palate: Rich, rounded and mouth-filling, with soft tannins, concentrated fruit, good balance and a smooth, mature texture.
- Finish: Long and pleasantly persistent, with savoury, herbal and mature fruit notes.
