A refined and approachable Merlot from Stellenbosch, South Africa, made from grapes grown in the cooler, coastal vineyards of the Schapenberg and Helderberg. The wine is spontaneously fermented with wild yeast in open-top wooden fermenters and aged in older barrels, preserving its fresh fruit character while adding gentle complexity.
On the nose, it offers inviting aromas of red cherry, cassis and ripe plum, with subtle earthy and herbal notes. The palate is fresh and supple, with juicy red and dark berry fruit, integrated acidity and fine, elegant tannins, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.
